The Skiing: Méribel-Les Allues is central
in Les Trois Vallées, the largest ski area in the world with 220 linked lifts and
600kms of pistes.
Free skiing for adult beginners:
Beginners can learn for free in Méribel with Première Glisse
(First Steps), a free day of learning with help and support. The first day on snow
includes:
- free equipment hire
- free pass for the beginners’ ski area
- An ESF instructor on site to give basic instructions to beginners and advice
on how and where to progress. Premiere Glisse is available on Sunday and Monday
mornings, except during school holiday periods.

The Méribel valley has 94 miles of pistes, 17 miles of
itineraries. 11 green runs, 33 blue, 21 red, 9 black, 2 snowboard fun parks.

Col de la Loze 2035m
Cross Country skiing / Ski du fond: Head off for the 33km of prepared
cross country trails in the valley; situated at the Lac de Tueda in Mottaret and
around the Altiport area of Méribel. A total of 90km of trails are available in
Meribel, Courchevel and La Tania. Both classic and skating forms of the sport are
accommodated, usually side by side. The trails are free to use and you can pick up
a guide booklet and map from the Tourist Offices. Pistes are maintained each
night.

Les Allues: linked by the Olympé gondola connects you
to the centre of Méribel. Ski home in one decent, from the top of Roc de Fer
2294m taking the pretty blue 'Villages' run. For good skiers the sensational long
marked off-piste itinerary, all the way to the chalet door.
Alternatively come home from Meribel on the gondola, or take
the free ski bus. (runs 0820-midnight).

Ski & Snow Board Schools & Guides
We recommend New
Generation Ski School. They are excellent for children, adults, beginners
& right up to Advanced.
Groups are small (4 - 8 people), clinics are smaller (3 - 6 people). Groups are
best for beginner to intermediate and clinics best for intermediate to advanced. Private lessons: 2, 3, 4 or 6 hours.

For intermediate skiers also try Alpine Masters.
For individual and small group lessons to get you to the next stage.
Blue parallels to reds, red to blacks and black to off piste.
For French speakers there is ESF - Ècole du ski Française.

Pre-book and pay on line at meribel-alpina and have passes posted to your home. Avoid 1st
day queuing.

For The Non-Skier

If skiing isn't your thing, there are a host of other activities:
Huskie sled riding, snow shoe walking, ice skating, rock climbing, snow biking,
paragliding, light aircraft flights, swimming in the indoor pool, pampering in the
Spas, shopping, lunches on mountain tops. A walkers pass includes the free ski
bus.
